One-A-Minute Sketch

One-A-Minute sketch

What is this? Well, it's a sketch of course, but it's also a project-slash-challenge and a win for you. I sat down today and wrote out a list of professional and creative goals and one goal is to push harder and be more spontaneous with drawing. To do this I am setting a timer for 10-20 minutes depending on my schedule that day, and drawing with no plan until the timer goes off. How's that a win for you? So that these drawings don't stack up in my studio I'm letting them go for just ONE DOLLAR per minute. They won't be listed for sale in my shop so the only way to get one is to email me (bryancollinsart@gmail.com) or catch me at a show. This guy was drawn on a 15 minute timer so he's just fifteen bucks. Well, I gotta charge you $2.99 to ship it but I'll throw in a sticker or two so it will be worth it. Send me a message if you want him.

Mid Tone Paper Drawings

Woman in a Tea Cup :: 5"x7" ink and colored pencil on grey paper :: Purchase HERE

I think this mid-toned paper has become my new addiction. It's actually pulled me in so much that I'm getting distracted from commissions, so I will do my best to control the urges. I am not straying from my established style of psychedelic, high energy color, just exploring my roots of ink and using the mid toned paper to study contrast and mood. I'm finding that these ink drawings are giving me a new perspective about how to approach my colorful work.

Dia de los Muertos :: 8"x10" ink and colored pencil on tan paper :: Sold

The Day of the Dead piece revealed some unexpected challenges as I was inking the nose, lips, and cheeks. The decorative makeup needed to have its own contrast, while still portraying the natural form of that part of the face. The challenge was fun and I'm sure I will do more Dia de los Muertos work in the future.

Girl Holding an Anchor :: 5"x7" ink and colored pencil on grey paper :: Sold

I'm hitting Florida hard right now with exhibits so if you are in my state, come see me at one of the shows below.

Blue Sketches

I've been carrying a small sketchbook around with me lately. I don't leave the house much during the day since I work from home in my studio, but I've had family in town and we've been out and about so I've been squeezing in time to do some sketching on the go. These two guys are now living in that sketchbook. The paper is odd, measuring about 4.5"x6.75" with two round corners. If you are interested in them I will mat them to a 5"x7" so they can be framed. Just send a message to bryancollinsart@gmail.com for availability and pricing. I am willing to frame them for you as well.

Daily Drawing 10

I hit double digits with this one. Daily drawing 10! I thought the painted area on my first daily drawing looked almost like a bandana on a skull, so I decided to do that intentionally. 5”x7” ball point pen, acrylic paint, and permanent marker on bristol. God bless,
Bryan

Daily Drawing 2

Daily drawing 2 is of a tortoise who enjoys a moment to look up at a dripping star. My first real pet was a turtle.
