Hammerhead Shark Mixed Media Illustration

You probably already know that one of my favorite art themes is nautical or sea life. Strangely enough I have only made a couple of shark drawings, and with a few upcoming animal-themed events I plan on exhibiting at, it seemed a great time to add a shark to the collection of available artwork. One of my personal favorites is the hammerhead shark, due to it's strange and unique head shape.

Did you know that hammerhead sharks use that wide head to trap stingrays to the ocean floor so they can eat them? Hammerheads have very few predators, but other sharks and humans are the majority. Horrifically, over a 100 million sharks are killed each year. I myself am a fisherman and seafood lover, and believe both can be enjoyed responsibly.

It's been a while since I created this pen and ink drawing of the Pirates of the Caribbean character, Davy Jones. This was a commission during the 2017 July Art Challenge where I attempted to create a commission once per day for the entire month. I ended up doing 33 pieces in 31 days. Davy Jones was a very memorable character from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The CGI was so incredible that I just couldn't take my eyes off of him as the tentacles squirmed all over his face. Nightmare Before Christmas Prints

Decorative Inked Owl

After working in color for the past few weeks I needed to cleanse my mind and create with black and white. This is something I do to train my mind's eye to focus on contrast. This practice translates back to how I use color so I try to stay up on it as much as I can.

John L. Sullivan Prints

The Art Whino gallery in Washington DC held a John L. Sullivan tribute show at their 2011 G40 exhibit and I was asked to create a painting for the show. This is an 11"x17" print of the piece I created for the exhibit. It is called "All-Star Knuckles".



These open edition prints are printed on 110lb bright white card stock and hand signed on the bottom right as seen in the photo. All of the photos seen here are of the actual print. Current ACEO Inventory

As I begin the scrambling to prepare for the upcoming Albuquerque Comic Expo I decided to take an inventory of how many limited edition ACEO (Art Cards Editions & Originals) I have on hand. As some of you know, I release trading card sized prints in editions of 20 and always release a new one when one sells out. For the Albuquerque Comic Expo I will be making an exception in case some sell out at the expo, and I will be releasing a few in advance.

First things first though, I want to give you the chance to pick up any of the existing trading card prints that still remain in case you can't make it to Albuquerque. Below you will see the image of any card currently available and the current number left of each one. I will try my best to update this post as the cards sell so this stays as current as possible.

The ACEO prints are just $3.95 each and are signed and numbered on the back. Each comes in a removable clear polypropylene sleeve and braced with foam board for protection. Journey Lost

I have released a limited edition run of just FIVE prints of the illustration "Journey Lost". The original piece is colored pencil on illustration board and measures 4"x6". The prints are 5"x7" and the printed area measures the same size as the original in 4"x6".

These prints are bold, vibrant, and colorful and I am very pleased with how they represent the original. Each one is printed on acid-free, bright white 110lb card stock, each is signed and numbered in the white area below the printed area, and each comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
