Reckless Endeavor (A Tale From Tiltwater 3) Cover Art

The wait is almost over! Reckless Endeavor, the third book in the Tale From Tiltwater series, is finished and off to printing, with the eBook release happening March 8th, which is opening day of Collective Con in Jacksonville. God willing, the paperbacks will also be available that same weekend at the convention.

This installment completes the story (for now) and has twists and turns and events more bizarre that I had anticipated. Your reviews and comments about Sewn Together and Fallen Elder have been beyond anything I could hope for, and I believe Reckless Endeavor will not let you down.

If you can't make it to Collective Con, you can pre-order Reckless Endeavor now at UseEveryColor.com

God bless,
Bryan

The Gleeful Gator finished art

The Gleeful Gator is the newest work to come out of Studio Collins. This piece was somewhat experimental, as I used different methods to plan and process the art. The first sketch was drawn much smaller in my sketchbook with a normal #2 pencil. I used a projector to transfer it to an 11x14 canvas, but after spending a couple of hours painting, I put the canvas aside and decided to switch to colored pencil, so I started over with an 11x14 piece of bristol. I spent another hour coloring that, then decided that the juxtaposition would frame better on 11x17, so I started all over with the projector on a new piece of larger bristol and created the final piece you see here.

The sky, water, and bed area below were done in shapes and forms borrowed from my earlier Coffee Girls series, while the flamingo and alligator were colored in ways I've been using more recently. All said and done, The Gleeful Gator has been received very well by you, my collectors, so I plan on creating more animals in similar styles, so if there's a particular animal you'd like to discuss for commission, send an email to bryancollinsart@gmail.com and I'll answer as soon as I can.

The original work is sold, so please consider the print options at useeverycolor.com

God bless,
Bryan

Mystery Monster 06 Video

One half of the June 28th Mystery Monsters are colored! I recorded the 6th of 12 being made and posted it on my YouTube channel in time-lapse. This is a little more than four hours of coloring condensed into just over 6 minutes.

This and eleven other original monster drawings will be released on June 28th, 2013. See this post for more details.

New Nautical Illustrations

The Atlantean Relic :: 10"x10" colored pencil on wood

Blow Your Boat :: 5"x7" colored pencil on wood

It's already February and I am releasing these two new nautical illustrations. I started a commitment in October of last year to release new work on the first of each month and I've held fast so far. These pieces remain in the nautical theme I've been exploring, and I've gone both above and below the ocean's surface to broaden the scope of sea-themes.

The work has been made available through www.bryancollins.bigcartel.com until they are sold. If the piece you are looking for is not in the online shop, it has found a home. Feel free to message me with any questions and God bless!

The prints above are signed and numbered on the back in an edition of 20, they come with a signed and numbered corresponding certificate of authenticity, and are just $4.95 each. Click the titles to go directly to the listing.

New ATCs will be released as each of these sells out, so grab them all while you still can.

Proof of Faith Book - 1st Hard Copy

After nearly a year of writing, rewriting, deleting the whole thing and starting over, I finally have a copy of "Proof of Faith" in my hands. I am very excited for this release, and also quite impressed with the quality of the book itself. The colors came out so bold and crisp. The black and white pieces even look incredibly sharp!

If you have pre-ordered the book, you will be receiving your copy shortly, along with your exclusive limited edition print. If you missed out on the pre-orders, don't let that stop you from getting your own copy of my very first book. There are 130 paintings, illustrations, and custom figures to accompany the candid story of my failures and successes on the road to becoming a full-time artist.

In this book I share some personal struggles and secrets. I discuss what happened to me during the times I had no creative outlet, and why I now have no choice but to make art. You will read about the first time I fell in love with art and the first time I decided I hated it. You will also hear about why I'd rather be poor and happy than rich and unhappy, and what that sentiment really means.

When you place your order at either Etsy or Bigcartel, please specify if you would like your copy signed or not. Enjoy the book and please post your comments and reviews when you get your copy.

God bless,

Bryan A. Collins
