The Groove Fits

I've been in bands almost as long as I've been making art so it's only natural that I take influence from sounds to create visuals. Any musician or true music lover knows how great it is when a groove fits and all the members of a band mesh together and create a perfect melody. I wanted to try to capture that moment with this piece called, "The Groove Fits". The guitarist and bass player are in a glued-together state to represent impeccable timing and a joint understanding of the song.

More information is available in the purchase description at http://www.etsy.com/listing/63344753/the-groove-fits-5x7-original

Here's a gratuitous shot of me playing the drums.

As always, please feel free to comment below, and God bless.

This new painting, "Set List For Bass Player" is now available. First in a series of music-inspired art. Due to my musical background, this is probably a theme I will begin exploring quite regularly.

$1 ORIGINAL Drawing Auction on Myspace

Fellow artist Aaron Jasinski has inspired me to create a series of art paying homage to my other creative love: MUSIC. Since I was a full-time musician before becoming a full-time artist, my love for music should naturally be represented in my art. Jaskinski has been doing this for a while, and I decided I've been waiting too long.

I am auctioning this pencil drawing used to plan out the first painting. The drawing measures 8"x10" and is graphite on acid-free drawing paper. It has been sprayed with Prismacolor Fixative for protection. Bidding starts at just $1. Just go to www.myspace.com/godstattooguy and click the New $1 Original Drawing Auction blog. Bidding ends Thursday June 18th 2009. Have fun!
