The Loch Ness Monster and The Little Mermaid

Nessie and Jon Boat

After the recent new "sighting" of the infamous Loch Ness Monster, I couldn't help myself from drawing Nessie. Having seen and read too many documentaries and publications on the creature, she holds a special place in my heart. This is a 5"x7" ink and white pencil drawing that has been mounted to a cradled wood panel and varnished for display. The original work is sold.

How could I possibly make a drawing about nautical mythology without also creating one of everyone's favorite mermaid, Ariel. She combing her hair with a dinglehopper and dreaming of the greener grass on land. Like Nessie, this piece is also ink and white pencil on tan paper, mounted to wood and varnished. You can check the availability of the original HERE.
