ACEO Panels

Recently I had the pleasure of painting four ACEO panels for a collector. If you are unfamiliar with ACEOs, the acronym stands for Art Cards Editions and Originals. The only requirement for an ACEO is that it measures 2.5"x3.5" like a standard trading card. This way they can be kept in pages like baseball cards, or can be displayed in special frames made to fit trading cards.

The collector asked that the ACEOs be painted on wood, and that there be four of them, but for the subject she left me total control. I decided on a series of pseudo-portraits, chose mesquite for the wood, and painted them with acrylics. These are what I came up with.

Comments and questions welcomed.

God bless,

Bryan

Thank you, Jill. I will definitely work on more wood. It's a perfect surface for adding lots of detail.
